Archangel's Blade ReviewI have to say, I am a massive fan of Nalini Singh. I devoured her Psy-Changling Series and then read all the Guild-Hunter novels in a single weekend. Archangel's Blade didn't disappoint.
This follows Dmitri's story. We met Dmitri in the previous three Guild-Hunter books, and I was both amused and enticed by his interactions with Elena, the heroine in ARCHANGEL'S BLOOD (BOOK 1), ARCHANGELS KISS(BOOK 2) and ARCHANGEL'S CONSORT (BOOK 3). Learning what made Dmitri tick was both a tragic and intriguing read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
In this novel we meet Honor St Nicholas, a damaged Guild Hunter who was attacked and repeatedly violated by Vamps for months, who had effectively secluded herself from the outside world in order to protect herself. She is strong-armed into accepting an assignment at Angel Tower, liasing with none other than the Archangel Raphaels very own right hand man and leader of the seven. Honor is thrown into turmoil, feeling both attracted by Dmitri the man, and repulsed by Dmitri the Vampire. Tempers flare and attraction builds during dual investigations; the hunt for Honor's attackers and the mystery surrounding a tattooed head floating in the Hudson, bearing a message in ancient code that brings back unwanted memories from Dmitri's past.
All in all, this was a great addition to the Guild-Hunter series, even if it veered from the primary main characters from the previous novels. It got a little far fetched toward the end and Honor kind of lost her character, all the old characters reappear and the plot line continues immediately from where ARCHANGEL'S CONSORT left off. Nalini has said she will write a Guild-Hunter novel on most of Raphaels Seven, so I'll wait anxiously for the next installment.
