The Warlord's Concubine- Book Four ReviewIn the beginning things where looking very good for Violet, her life in the seraglio was tolerable, she had captured General Wang's attentions. But all would change with the cut of a deck of cards and there the story takes a harrowing turn. It would all boil down to what was more important "the gift of a woman's soul" or power. Unfortunately Wang chose what he wanted most or did he?
This last installment was a roller coaster ride bouncing back and forth from hope to despair. Would Violet finally get the freedom she so longed for? Paul Blades leads you once again through a torment of thoughts and emotions all the while only giving you a glimmer of hope that it may all turn out.
Well thought out story, while difficult at times to read, it grabs your attention and has you needing to find out what will happen next. The ending was touching and summed up what a truly remarkable person Violet really was. It left me wondering if such a person really existed and where Mr Blades got his inspiration to write such a story.
