Blade Of The Immortal: Legend Of The Sword Demon (Novel) ReviewWhere the anime maintains a close association with the manga's storyline, this novel is an intentional deviation, by the blessing of Samura. The author was advised to throw curveballs, while retaining some recognizable aspect of the manga's character relationships, and was given a free rein in the creation of the sword demon. Samura is a pretty magnanimous guy for allowing this, which suggests that he is more interested in how others interpret his work than exerting a measure of jealous control.
