Sky Blade: Sword of the Heavens, Vol. 2 ReviewThe Palace of Divine Goddesses seems to be a place that no man can enter and come out alive. Except for one, Il-Geum. It seems he was raised by these beautiful women as a child. Fresh off of his encounters with the 3 Gems of the Land, all of whom he believes are in love with him (in actuality, they want to kill him), he begins to show his own glimpses of martial skill. Meanwhile, Woon-Jung (Jade of Ice) also shows up at the palace and pays the girls to kill the person that pulled off her dress and humiliated her. They accept the bounty and only afterwards find out the offender is Il-Geum. They are duty-bound to carry out the contract, no matter what their personal feelings! Il-Geum is in a world of hurt in this second volume, and he hasn't even met the "Twin Devils of North and South" yet!
This second volume continues the light humor and slapstick of Volume 1. It's just good clean fun. Like when Il-Geum initiates one of his special attacks and it occurs behind him instead of where he aims. Or when he accuses Woon-Jung of being an exhibitionist. It's a shame that the rest of this series probably will never be published.Sky Blade: Sword of the Heavens, Vol. 2 OverviewIl-Geum can't catch a break! Jade of Ice, one of the Three Gems of the Land, hires the Divine Goddesses to have Il-Geum killed for humiliating her in public. The Divine Goddesses instead stage a kidnapping of Il-Geum, dropping him off in front of the cave of the Twin Devils of North and South. He lends a hand to the Twin Devils by reading the book Art of Spiritual Heaven aloud to them. Whoever masters this art has the power to conquer the land!Il-Geum falls asleep and never finishes reading the book, but unaware of that fact, the Twin Devils fly off in haste. Ji-Ro discovers Il-Geum and realizes that Il-Geum has acquired immense power-and now is his only chance to get rid of Il-Geum for good...
